Help fill the Museum of Love,
Peace & Beads!
The Love &
Peace Project is planning for a future museum, where YOU
can help create what goes in it.
So how do
love, peace and beads relate to each other? A leftover
60's thing, perhaps? It goes back way further than that.
beginning of time, beads have been used as adornment.
Sometimes, they helped establish a person's status. But
they also have facilitated trade and enabled
relationships with others, because they were currency.
Essentially, beads have brought communities together,
giving them value within a social setting.
there are the activities associated with beads: making
beads, designing, stringing, selling. Aside from the
industrial variety, making beads is a form of expression
- it is art. You can't produce a beautiful bead while
being angry or feeling rushed.
is true for designing and creating bead jewelry. That
process of stringing beads is calming, relaxing, almost
meditative. And it requires time. It is exactly during
this time - let's just say while knotting a
pearl necklace - when you have the perfect settings to
contemplate about life.
gently stringing away, infinity and calmness appear.
quiet. Love and peace. And beads.
