Gem Show 2001

11/17 & 11/18/01   Fairgrounds, West Palm Beach, FL

The very first event where the Love & Peace Project could get exposure was the annual Gem Show at the South Florida Fairgrounds in West Palm Beach, organized and promoted by the Gem & Mineral Society of the Palm Beaches.

And what a success it was! The project grew by 35 beads or about 3'6".

A very big "Thank You" goes to the Show Chairman Jack Stamper, who made it possible for the Love & Peace Project to have a table there to display.

This event is memorable because it triggered the idea of exposing the Project in order to gain entries for it.

At that time, the colors of the seed beads between the dedicated beads matched the dedicated beads. In 2004 they all were restrung with golden seed beads in order to bring out each individual dedicated bead better.

Over the years the necklace evolved literally into a living entity on its own. As it changed and adapted and grew, new design standards were introduced for each separate section.

You can see this progress by clicking through the event pages and by visiting the Gallery.

The Love & Peace Project in its infancy: at the time it was about 12' in length.
